COBOL Statements and Sentences: A statement is a syntactically valid combination of words and symbols beginning with a COBOL verb.
A sentence consists of one or more statements and is terminated by a period followed by a space.
COBOL Statements are of the following types:
* COBOL Conditional statements
* COBOL system-directing statements
* COBOL Imperative statements
* COBOL ANS85 Delimited scope statements
There are three types of COBOL sentences:
