Intel Pentium Pro

Introduced by Intel in 1995, the Intel Pentium Pro is a 32-bit microprocessor operating at clock speeds ranging from 150 MHz to 200 MHz. The Pentium Pro was designed as a high-performance processor for server and workstation applications. It featured a superscalar architecture with out-of-order execution, a large on-chip cache memory, and support for symmetric multiprocessing (SMP). These advanced features made the Pentium Pro well-suited for demanding computing tasks such as database servers, scientific computing, and CAD/CAM applications. Despite being eventually succeeded by newer architectures, the Pentium Pro's design innovations and performance capabilities solidified its place in the history of microprocessor development and its influence can be seen in subsequent generations of Intel processors.
