408-286 PUNK phone in June 1986

The updated version is here!

2.5x faster over-air speed!

2x faster CPU

7x the RAM

Individual LEDs for Tx/Rx/RTS/CTS/DSR/DTR/DCD states

Based on the same reliable code that has made the WiModem family the standard for the past 8 years!

Uses more common micro-USB connector

The WiModem232 Pro is next generation internet modem for any computer with a RS-232 interface port that emulates a standard Hayes compatible modem. Just plug the WiModem232 Pro into the "serial" port and connect to BBS's all over the world or run a BBS of your own!

The WiModem232 Pro requires access to your local router and supports easy WiFi setup, including WPS one-button setup, manual SSID entry, or an easy to use WiFi portal on the your smart phone or tablet.

Firmware updates are done using a simple command that fetches the latest firmware from the CBMSTUFF.COM server and updates the WiModem232 Pro - all without ever having to remove the WiModem232 Pro from your computer!

The WiModem232 Pro hardware supports 75 baud to 230400 baud and every possible parity, start bit, and stop bit configuration. Note: the terminal software you are using determines the maximum baud rate.

The WiModem232 Pro requires external 5v power. Connect any 5v source (PC, phone charger, etc.) using a cable having a micro USB connector.

The WiModem232 Pro controls ALL of the standard RS-232 lines: Rx/Tx, RTS/CTS, DTR/DSR, and DCD all at the same time. This means that you can use the WiModem232 Pro to run a BBS!

A DB25 to DB9 or RS-232 gender changer may be required for your particular computer. These are available separately. The WiModem232 Pro uses a DB25 female connector (plugging into a DB25 male port).

NULL-MODEM support!

You can use two WiModem232 Pro units together in NULL-MODEM mode. This allows you to plug one into your computer and one into any RS232 compatible device (such as a printer, plotter, or another computer) and use the two devices together without the normally required NULL-MODEM cable! It's a wireless and direct connection and no router is required!

This version of the WiModem232 Pro comes with the full color, hires TFT screen and resin 3D printed case.

Successfully test with the following computers:

Atari ST (all models)

Commodore Amiga (all models, A1000 requires gender changer)

IBM PC (all models wtih DB9 or DB25 - may require converter or gender changer)

Apple 8 bit (all models, requires proper cable)

Apple Mac (all models with AppleTalk/Modem port, requires proper cable)

Geneve

Tandy 100/102

Atari 400, 800, 800XL

Colleco Adam

TI99-4/A

BBC Micro

RS-232 dumb terminals

...and many others!

BBS Server for putting Commodore 64 BBSes on the 'net (Visual Basic 6)

Commodore Telnet BBS Server

A simple Windows program that acts as a 'bridge' between serial and TCP/IP, allowing you to set up a Commodore BBS that can be Telnetted to (really just a raw TCP connection). Also allows a C64 to "dial out" over Telnet. Yeah, yeah, it's Visual Basic 6.

A list of Telnetable BBSes can be found here.

http://cbbsoutpost.servebbs.com/

My own BBS is still up and running, telnet to bbs.jammingsignal.com port 23 .

Commodore4ever Wifi Modem Commodore 64/128/Vic-20/Plus 4

Commodore4Ever Wifi Modem

Allows you to connect to your favorite Commodore BBSs via telnet. Supports speeds from 300 to 9600 baud. For use with Commodore 64 up to 9600 baud, a Commodore128 up to 2400 baud, Vic-20 up to 1200 baud, and also a Plus 4 - I have no personal experience with this one.

This new design features switches to enable and disable 9600 baud to make using with your 128 simple and easy! Also has a switch on the right to allow modem to be powered from and external USB source, like the ATOM with USB. If you want to power from a USB then the switch on the right needs to be in the ON position. In the OFF position the modem is getting power from the Commodore. Powering from USB will eliminate any chance of interference as some have experienced, especially with the Reloaded MK2 motherboards.

Instructions:

If you are using this modem with a 128 and 1581 or 1571 then you will need to turn off the 9600baud switch on the modem (left switch). Then you will need to skip the below steps for setting up 9600 baud. Instead you will leave the modem type at userport and set the baud rate to 2400. If you are NOT using a 128 with a 1581 or 1571 then you will be able to use 9600 baud.

• Plug the modem into your Commodore user port with the chip side up and then power up your Commodore. If you do not see a solid blue light on the modem then it is not getting any power and you will need to trouble shoot your Commodore. I suggest cleaning the contacts of the userport first.

• If using a commodore 64 or 128 is 64 mode, Load CCGMS 2017. If you are using a 128 in 128 mode Load a term program of your choosing and follow the setup instructions according to the program you use. (I am assuming you know how to load a program from media such as a floppy disk or SD Card)

• Press F7

• Select modem type as User Port, and select 300 baud. You must do it in this order. If you select the baud rate first and then the modem type second the baud will change when the modem type is selected!

• Press Return to go back to terminal

• Press Return Again and you should see the Modem Info on the screen

• Hit F8 to go to Ascii mode

• Enter your ssid and password with the following terminal commands: at$ssid=ssid and at$pass=password (Your Password and SSID CAN NOT contain any special characters. For best results SSID and Password should only use lower case letters and numbers.)

• F8 to go back to the Graphics terminal

• Type atc1 to connect. You may have to do this a few times to get it to connect

• Type the commands at&p0 then at&k1 . Without doing this 9600 baud will lock up your Commodore.

• Change the baud rate by typing at$sb=9600

• Press F7 Menu and select modem type as Up9600 Baud and then 9600 Baud

• Save your settings

• Press Return to go back to terminal. At this point if your terminal will not respond to any type of input, you will want to start all over. This time instead of changing the modem to up9600 and the baud to 9600, leave the modem type at userport and change the baud to 2400 and then continue. up9600 is a hack that tricks the userport into going 9600 baud and in my experience has issues on some machines, WHY? I could not tell you. Sometime if you repeat the setup steps several times the modem will allow 9600 baud.

• Type at&w to save the setting to the modem

*Type in the address of your favorite BBS and you are back in the 80's!

Strikelink WIFI Modem for Commodore C64, C128

If you prefer a specific color, please add a note on the sale or message me.

This is a WiFi modem for the User Port of the Commodore 64 and Commodore 128

It can connect to your wifi router and "call" BBS from internet.

There is a modem reset button and 2 micro switches that allow to disable UP9600 hack to be able to use the modem in C128 mode together with 1571 drive by falling back to 2400bps, if there is no 1571 drive connected it can work in C128 mode with UP9600 hack enabled. The second micro switch is to enable or disable powering the device from computer itself so it can be used with external usb power incase you have instability because of power supply.

There are instructions included for configuring CCGMS 2021 terminal client and configuring the modem for use in a C64.

There are a TON of active BBSes for Commodore Computers and new active developing software clients for it like CCGMS 2021

With this you can connect and re-live the "internet" as it was back then :)

Visit Commodore BBS Outpost cbbsoutpost.servebbs.com to find active BBSes!

This Wifi modem is based on the Strikelink firmware by Alwyz which is the active developer of the famous CCGMS client for Commodore 64 and the case is 3D printed.

If you want another colour for the case, please message me and I will print a case with your colour preference.

Commodore Amiga 500 Plipbox Parallel Port Ethernet adapter a500 Network

Up for auction is an Amiga 500 Parallel port Ethernet adapter. It is powered by a 5 volt DC CENTER positive 2.1mm plug power supply that IS NOT INCLUDED. You can NOT power the unit by the USB connector on the Nano. I removed Diode D1 as it was dropping the voltage down by .5 volts and causing power up / connection problems.

I only created the Parallel port circuit board, I didn't do any of the programming for the firmware in the Nano, See this guys site for all install instructions. You will need to get the 'plipbox.device' driver from the link below and copy the driver file to the Amiga in to the proper directory the rest has been done for you. : http://lallafa.de/blog/amiga-projects/plipbox/ for any questions.

You will need to get your own TCP/IP stack software, it doesn't come with a tcp/ip stack and miami, roadshow, amitcp, etc work

This has ONLY BEEN TESTED on an Amiga 500, It's all I have currently so I'm not selling it as "WORKING" on any other type of Amiga Parallel port.

It is a COMPLETE Unit with Pre-Programmed Ardunio Nano with the 0.6 firmware from the above link.

Commodore 64 A/V Breakout 8 pin

From www.commodore-4ever.com

https://www.youtube.com/@commodore4ever

Great device designed by Sven Petersen.

Composite out. Mono or Stereo out (If your 64 has been modded with). Audio In.. SVideo out!

This device makes hooking up your 64 to a modern tv quick and simple.

Documentation:

The A/V-Adaptor allows to connect standard S-Video and Audio or Composite-Video cables to the A/V-Jack of the Commodore C64.

A 330 resistor to attenuate the Chroma signal for S-Video is installed, but it can be deactivated by setting a jumper (JP2). This attenuation is required, since the chroma signal has a level, which is too high for standard S-Video.

Further, the audio input can be connected to GND, in case it is not in use to reduce the noise introduction.

The two audio output jacks can be connected by a jumper. Alternatively, the stereo sound output (A/V-Jack, pin 7, in case a 2nd SID is installed inside the C64) can be connected to the right channel of the audio output. The first SID output is connected to the left channel of the audio output.

Connectors

A/V-Plug

The A/V-Plug for the C64 is the inner part of a Lumberg 033099 SV 80 DIN-Plug (8 pins, horse shoe = 262°). It provides a round plastic shell of the DIN-connector and long enough pins, so the adaptor can sit firmly in the A/V jack. The inner part of a cheaper (standard) connector cannot be used, since it does not sit firm enough.

Macintosh DA-15 to VGA DE-15 video adapters

https://www.macintoshrepository.org/52159-macintosh-da-15-to-vga-de-15-video-adapters

A list of modern flat panel (LCD, OLED) monitors that directly support analog 15 kHz signals through discrete RGB connectors (VGA, DVI-A, and/or SCART). (Note that Component video is actually YPrPb.)

"Full" 15 kHz RGB Support in the table below means it supports 15kHz signals at least as well as a CRT:

The monitor requires no external scan doubler (such as an XRGB-mini or OSSC) or other powered devices to correctly process analog 15 kHz signals through the RGB connector. Only unpowered adapters are allowed for "full" support.

The monitor is able to display the image centered and in the proper aspect ratio (4:3), shows every pixel of the source signal, and doesn't waste screen space. This means black or grey bars at the top and bottom (but not sides) of a 5:4 monitor and on the sides (but not top or bottom) of a 16:9 or 16:10 monitor.

The monitor supports 240p/288p and 480i/576i and is usable in these modes without annoying flicker, at least not more annoying than a CRT's flicker.

If the user needs to manually center or stretch the image, the settings persist across screen mode changes and power cycles.

"Partial" support deficiencies should be noted in the comments.

Orange Cart Diagnostics!

I am selling a reproduction of the last release of Tandy/Radioshacks Diagnostics cartridge for the TRS-80

Colour Computer. Model 26-3019 Works on all Coco 1 and 2 computers regardless of how little memory (i.e. Original Model 1 Coco with 4Kb RAM. Should boot fine on a Coco model 3 however I do not own this computer to test.

The Diagnostics Program Pak (26-3019) has not been available from Radio Shack since 1983. This one has the later (2.0) version of the test routines. Tests Video, Sound, Rom, and First 64K of memory as well as peripheral connections such as Serial or printer.

This is a bare pcb cartridge. Make sure to insert the cart component side up. You can run this without a case as its a simple inexpensive diagnostics cart.. This is standard practice on Commodore, Atari, and other systems. If you really want a cartridge case you can look for a cheap business program and install it into the case. There are 3D print models you can print or sent out for print as well such as this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3862851?fbclid=IwAR1hp6kO226tRcXepNm2KuDoxf7y1LQeHec3Vb7tc_WPMUzku6FBrD71JeY

About the Macintosh Garden

The Macintosh Garden is an abandonware archive, dedicated in particular to supporting the Macintosh computer platform. A notable feature of Macintosh Garden is its emphasis on emulation, encouraging users to run historical software on modern systems.

Software featured on the Macintosh Garden has been discontinued by their publishers and is no longer commercially available. The Macintosh Garden aims to preserve these treasures for future generations, providing documentation and downloads of the original files.

With respect to copyrighted software: Non-qualifying software is removed if detected and upon request. If software is removed due to copyright, a link to the Publisher's purchase page is provided in its place.

The website is primarily a wiki, allowing contributors to upload files and screenshots as well as edit descriptions and other details. Software is divided into Apps and Games and these are categorised by genre, year, author and publisher, etc.;

Originally founded in 2001. Throughout this time the site was hosted by "Home of the Underdogs" an earlier PC abandonware site. In late 2008 HOTU went bankrupt and the Macintosh Garden was without a home for a short period. The Macintosh Garden relaunched in 2009 in the form you now see it as its own independent identity. It plans to keep active for now and into the future. We hope that you like and enjoy it.

# Compaq Portable II - 286 - https://www.oldsilicon.com/compaq-portable-ii - I used to carry this 24 pound beast in 1986 on the train commuting and there was only one outlet per train reserved for the vacuum cleaner. People often gave up their seat next to that one outlet to watch me with a "portable" computer... and that was in Silicon Valley. Yet I was the only one I ever saw carrying this back-breaker luggable as a commuter. It weighed a ton lugging it for 6 blocks to the train station, but I was 20 years old then. I used Borland Sidekick TSR for preparing my daily checklist. The power would go out from time to time when the train stopped at the station...no battery like later laptops. But it booted quickly into Sidekick "app". LOL.
