PowerPC 603

The PowerPC 603 is a 32-bit microprocessor developed by IBM and Motorola as part of the PowerPC architecture. Introduced in 1994, the PowerPC 603 operated at clock speeds ranging from 75 MHz to 200 MHz. It was designed for use in embedded systems, laptops, and low-end desktop computers. The PowerPC 603 featured a superscalar architecture with two integer units and a floating-point unit, making it capable of executing multiple instructions simultaneously. It also included a 32 KB on-chip cache for improved performance. Despite its lower performance compared to higher-end PowerPC processors, the PowerPC 603 offered a balance of performance and power efficiency, making it suitable for a variety of applications.
